Privacy & Cookies

Your privacy matters to us as much as your evening does. This page explains, in plain words, what this website collects, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are

This website is run by Sapores Restaurant & Lounge, 51 Camden High St, London NW1 7JH (“Sapores”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal data described on this page, under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). You can reach us about your data at info@sapores.co.uk.

What we collect, and why

  • Nothing to browse the menu. You can read our menus, look through the gallery and plan your visit without giving us any personal information. This website has no accounts, no sign-up and no forms.
  • Analytics, only if you say yes. With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 (Google) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how people arrive, the device and browser used, approximate location (city or country) and, with Clarity, how pages are scrolled and clicked, including anonymised recordings of visits. These tools set cookies and use an online identifier. They do not load at all until you click Accept. Legal basis: your consent (UK GDPR article 6(1)(a) and PECR regulation 6).
  • Click counts we keep ourselves. To learn which links are useful, the site counts clicks on links. A count is a day, a page and a number: no IP address, no cookie, nothing that identifies you. It is not personal data.
  • Security and delivery. As with any website, our hosting providers briefly process your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website.

Cookies and storage on your device

  • Your cookie choice is kept in your browser’s storage so we do not ask you on every page. Strictly necessary; no consent needed.
  • Your wish list is kept only in your browser’s storage, on your device. It is never sent to us.
  • Google Analytics (_ga and _ga_*, up to 2 years) and Microsoft Clarity (_clck up to 1 year, _clsk 1 day, plus cookies on Microsoft’s own domains): set only after you accept.

You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw, analytics stops straight away and its cookies on our site are deleted. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Who receives data

Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC (Google Analytics), and Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited and Microsoft Corporation (Clarity), receive analytics data, and only if you accept. Our hosting and content-management providers process data on our behalf and only on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Google and Microsoft may process analytics data in the United States. These transfers are protected by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under which both companies are certified, or by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

Google Analytics keeps event data for up to 14 months, then deletes it. Microsoft Clarity keeps recordings for up to 30 days and summary data for up to 13 months. Our security logs are kept briefly and then deleted.

Bookings, maps and social media

Table bookings are made on OpenTable, directions open in Google Maps, and our Instagram, TikTok and Facebook links take you to those platforms. When you use them, their own privacy policies apply. Our site only links to them; it does not load them into its pages.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting what happened before. Because analytics data is tied to an online identifier rather than to your name, we may need that identifier to find it; the simplest way to stop analytics is Cookie settings.

To use any of these rights, email info@sapores.co.uk, call us on +44 20 7388 1973, write to us at 51 Camden High St, London NW1 7JH, or speak to the manager in the restaurant. We will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if what we do changes; the date below always shows the latest version.
